Print Room Operator

We have an opportunity for a Print Room Operator to join our small but busy team. The Print Room Operator role is a unique role within the Industrial and Commercial department of Castle Water and will require enthusiasm and confidence. You will work with all parts of the business to ensure that customer communications are produced and dispatched accurately and promptly whether digitally or physically. You will use your problem solving skills and initiative to ensure quality.

What you'll be doing

  • Understand the flow and schedule of customer communications from every part of the business.
  • Utilising Quadient Impress software, create and maintain accurate templates and workflows to produce and enhance documents.
  • Maintain and operate commercial scale Xerox printers; Manage/order supplies of consumables and schedule regular maintenance to ensure production capacity is available when needed.
  • Maintain and operate TwoFold inserter/enveloper: operation; set-up of new and custom production profiles; trouble-shooting; maintenance scheduling.
  • Employ successful quality assurance and controls on incoming production requests.
  • Assisting submitting departments with data file processing.
  • Development of new workflows and templates.
  • Production of print and digital documents; upload to cloud Portal; envelope with insertions where required.
  • Use Royal Mail systems to prepare orders and invoices, co-ordinating collections with Royal Mail.
  • Use of franking machine for oversize and critical mail deliveries.
  • Co-ordinate with Marketing/Purchasing/Facilities on the maintenance/storage and ordering of paper and envelope stock.
  • Maintain production logs and communicate/confirm when communications are despatched.
  • Update communication details for undelivered email/post.
  • Quality Control of outgoing communications.
  • You will be expected to carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your main duties.

  • Strong customer management and relationship engagement skills (both internally and externally) required.
  • Fully competent in Microsoft Office systems such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Fully conversant with the company’s operational processes and policies.
