Water Quality Manager

The Water Quality Manager role is central to our activities and presents an exciting opportunity to join a team responsible for the specification, adoption and operation of water and waste-water networks in England and Wales. This role is home based but will involve travel to our sites as and when required.

What you'll be doing

• Ensuring Castle Water Networks meets all regulatory and operational requirements associated with providing wholesome drinking water to our consumers across our sites.
• Responsible for internal water quality reporting and communications.
• Fully understand the reporting requirements of the DWI together with taking responsibility for their delivery of all statutory reporting.
• Ongoing monitoring of water quality data and information to ensure water quality compliance.
• To support the wider team in meeting CWN’s statutory obligations as a NAV.
• Effectively manage regular engagement with regulators, stakeholders, suppliers and incumbent water companies in relation to drinking water quality.
• Oversee and ensure compliance to the requirements of the Water Fittings Regulations 1999.
• The role will require enthusiasm and would suit people who are confident, enjoy problem-solving and can work under their own initiative.

What you'll bring to the role

• Ideally hold a degree in a relevant scientific discipline or possesses substantial experience in a scientific role
• Chartered membership of a professional body or actively working towards chartered status
• Over 3 years’ experience and strong expertise in water quality regulation, science, and public health considerations
• Proven track record in leading and effectively managing external contractors
• Broad experience engaging with water industry regulators and key stakeholders
• Experience of delivering water quality and water fittings training and advice
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Commercial awareness and understanding of the business and wider water industry are advantageous
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability and resilience to deal with challenge and ambiguity
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Competent in all Microsoft office packages including Excel, office 365
• Must be a strong team player, with the ability to work collaboratively across functions and departments
• Must have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts or data in a meaningful way and with the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally
• Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
