I was studying in school, I was in S6.
I remember hearing about the apprenticeship opportunity through an apprentice fair, where I met a team who gave me more information on the course. I also found out more through the Castle Water Website.
I have learned many skills, and I have been able to develop my skills further. I have applied my new skills and qualities to my work, which I believe helped me progress further in my role.
I work full time and study. I am given 2 hours a week to do any of my apprenticeships work. Which has been great. I can apply my knowledge into real work.
The people and support. I have enjoyed meeting new people and building relationships with them. I have also enjoyed the experience of learning and working as this was something completely new to me. The support I have been given is incredible. I always felt supported.
One of my big achievements during my time as an apprentice is, I have been able to successfully pick up and understand my role in my team. I have been able to understand new processes and learn new things quickly and efficiently. I am also proud of being able to complete my apprenticeship in the time I had hoped for!
Be open minded and stay committed. I would also advise to be confident and try out things that may be out of your comfort zone. It can open many doors!
